What is currently bringing meaning to your life?

Posted on May 19th, 2008 by Naumadd : Rationally Passionate Writer Naumadd
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 17, 2008:

I am ever the wanderer and explorer so, discovering and understanding new things, or simply rediscovering and finally understanding or being reminded of very old things is what brings the most meaning to my life at any one moment.

Since last August, my family and I have had the wonderful opportunity to live in a very large house sitting on twenty heavily-forested and overgrown acres of land which conveniently is located just minutes from a main road and lots of the necessary shopping. At the house itself, it's always as though we are miles and miles from nowhere and all one can hear are the sounds of nature. Since we moved in, little by little, I've rededicated myself to building an intimacy with the nature around me. The unfolding of spring recently has heightened the experience and the growing love I feel for my surroundings is creating a beautiful framework for the meaning already in my life and for creating abundant new meaning.

Just today, I discovered a relatively new musical instrument called a "hang drum." I've always been a lover of steel drums and have percussion talent of my own. Watching and listening to videos of the incredibly talented players of this instrument at YouTube has me bristling with anticipation for owning one of these instruments where I can explore music creation - a long-held dream of mine.

Also today, I received my own copy of Gregory Colbert's unique novel "Ashes and Snow." I've enjoyed exerpts from this novel at his website for a while now and I've also been incredibly inspired by his photography for almost a year. He has a vision that closely matches my own  sensibilities and spirit. We are kindred in many ways, Gregory and I. Having his novel now and the opportunity to read the entire thing, I expect, will alter my way of seeing and experiencing this beautiful place I live in. I expect Gregory's point of view, combined with the new and wonderful music I've discovered and the continuing evolution of nature outside my door - plus an open and passionate heart - will build intense meaning in my life I've never before experienced. It promises to fuel my own creative expression which I hope will fuel the passions of others ... if I'm fortunate enough to have their eyes, ears, minds ... and hearts.

Your inner self truly understands my own.  How fortunate you are to live in such an environment.  Would you feel comfortable disclosing whereabouts you live?   I am currently moving from a big city to a smaller city in Wisconsin and your environment seems rather ideal.
