What do you believe about dates like December 21st, 2012?

I believe that date, like any other date, holds significance to human beings only relative to their individual and very personal beliefs, values and experiences. The date will either be significant to you or it will not. Dates have no built-in meaning in and of themselves and neither does anything else. We each individually give our lives, things, places, dates, etc., meaning ... or we do not. We are rational, reasonable and systematic in assigning meaning or we are haphazard and foolish. If you believe dates such as December 21, 2012 to be "the end of life as you know it", it probably will be - for you. What it will be for me or for anyone else is entirely subject to our seperate sets of values and beliefs. In my personal circles, we celebrate a pagan Yule at or around the 21 of December. At this point, I can only guess what other meanings that specific day may hold for me personally and can only barely begin to guess what significance it will have for others. Alas, the best possible is guessing. None can reasonably say with certainty what the significance of any future date may be. Certainty is somewhat difficult even with past dates and the now is only just revealing itself to our groggy and uncertain minds.
