"Homage ..."

I was doing some reading today about Guy Fawkes, the comic book and movie "V for Vendetta" and that, by now, world famous little ditty and, because I love rewriting catchy little verses and songs to suit my own private little paradise, I came up with this:
Remember, remember the first of forever,
the living, the season and plot.
I know of no reason this forever season
should ever be forgot.
The original, of course, is about one Guy Fawkes and a most memorable treasonous gunpowder-filled and yet unsuccessful day on the 5th of November in 1605 in London, England, however, it seems the sentiment applies even more to this very day and every day ... the first of forever. Each and every moment we experience is a moment never seen before and never to be seen again. They come and they go almost unnoticed and yet they are absolutely priceless and without a doubt worthy of remembrance. As one of my favorite quotations goes, "Each moment is a place we've never been." It should be noted that history isn't simply that which we print into textbooks, it is EVERYTHING no matter how trivial and insignificant it seems to us at the time. EVERYTHING that occurs has a hand in writing the future and so, if by some chance we make it to the future, even the trivial and insignificant are to be celebrated for getting us there.
All of this is a complicated way of saying - live in the moment ... fully ... and try not to forget ANY of it. The present is really all you'll ever have. Respect it.
Anyway, I wax poetic when I'm feeling tired, silly and haven't had my coffee. Take it for whatever it's worth to you.
